Roots and Recipe Final Draft

I remember it like yesterday, the day I walked into the house smelling the aroma of batter.  It smelled so sweet that I could taste the softness of the batter on my tongue.  It tasted like, well I can't really explain it.  The batter is like it has no taste, but it does.  But what I really wondered was how was the recipe really made and the importance of it.
As my mother took out the mixing bowl we had used for many years, it took me back to when I first tried this famous cake, as if it was a few hours ago.
Imagine this: a little girl walking down the stairs, to see what's going on. But as soon as she took her first step into this new discovery she was satisfied.
When she took that first bite, she knew she had entered a new chapter of her life red velvet cake. The taste of the cake wasn't like something she ever tried before.  When she took those first few bites it was like strawberries bursting in her mouth. You could taste the crunchy pecans and hearing them crack in your mouth.
But, back to reality....while still trying to  figure out the mystery of why this recipe is so important. I went to the most reliable source I could find, my mom.
I watched her take out the ingredients from vanilla extract, eggs, baking soda, creme cheese, walnuts, baking powder and etc., I ask her "Why is this cake so special to you" and she gives me the answer "Because it was your dad's mother's recipe" and I got why it was important because my grandmother had passed away.
So, as I watched my mother crack the hard shell "crack crack crack" on the counter and open it into the bowl and watch it fall out, I began to wonder why this was always made I started to realize this recipe is so special to our family because my grandmother who is deceased always had made this recipe  and its really special to my dad because that was his role model for life.  She took care of him and disciplined him.  She made a big difference in his life.
So ever since that day, I have seen the velvet cake different, I used to just see it as a simple cake but that changed, I've seen the real meaning of the cake and realized the beginning of velvet cake

Roots and Recipes Brainstorm Part 1

The food that I will be describing is called Red Velvet Cake.  One special memory that I have with this food is that it's the only cake that I tasted from my grandma who passed away and she was known for baking.  So, its special to me because i've always wanted to taste her cakes but I never got the chance to try all of them.  Some sensory details that I will be using to bring the cake alive is that how its moisture of chewy sweet cake and the smooth icing that leaves a taste in your mouth.  The person that I will be interviewing for this recipe is my father because it was his mother's cake and he was there to try all of them, so I think it's most special to him.
